Pavlίna Látková, PhD, was born and raised in Czechoslovakia (currently, the Czech Republic). Her fascination and desire to discover new cultures and places, has powered her personal journey for the past 40+ years and brought her to San Francisco in 2008, where she started a new chapter of her life at SF State. Currently, Dr. Látková teaches multiple RPT classes (e.g., internship seminars and supervision, GWAR, travel and tourism courses), which incorporate experiential and service learning to enable students gain practical knowledge and skills. Dr. Látková has developed and led a short-term faculty-led study abroad program to Costa Rica, which former SF State students described as “a life-changing experience”.
Dr. Látková teaches about travel, studies travel, dreams about travel, …she travels…and so should you: “Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” (Mark Twain)
