Welcome to the Department of Recreation, Parks & Tourism's newsletter. The students in RPT 600 (Professionalism in Recreation, Parks & Tourism) will be responsible for publishing a weekly newsletter and Instagram posts.
Deconstructing our logo
- The kite symbolizes freedom (a leisure concept) and the pursuit of new experiences, and represents Recreation
- As the CA state tree, the Redwood symbolizes a deep connection to the natural world, and represents Parks
- The Golden Gate Bridge (GGB) as the globally recognized symbol of San Francisco, and represents Tourism
And if you look closely, you will find 85 recreation activities, the Greek word for leisure, and other RPT/SFSU references.
